Principals

Thomas P. Dowdall, President

 

In 1992, Tom founded Unlimited Prospects in Washington, DC.  He has more than 20 years of experience in fund raising and development as a consultant, trainer, executive and development director.  Among his contractual affiliations:  development counsel with Douglas Lawson, Inc.; adjunct faculty for George Washington University’s management certificate program in fund raising and public relations, he developed the curriculum and taught the fund raising track, and; training faculty for the Support Center of Washington, where he was presented the Faculty of the Year award.  Among his fund development and executive staff positions:  Director of Financial Development for the Kalamazoo County Family YMCA; Fund Development consultant for the Funding Center of Washington, D.C.; Executive Director and Program Director for Virginia Special Olympics, Training Director for Pennsylvania Special Olympics, Regional Development Director for Michigan Special Olympics. 

As a member of the National Society of Fund Raising Executives and a Certified Fund Raising Executive, he served on the board of the Washington, DC Chapter of NSFRE (now the American Association of Fundraising Professionals) and was the founding President of the Consultant’s Consortium, a Washington area network of senior consultants.  He also served on the Stewardship Commission for the Washington Episcopal Diocese.   As a parent and former preschool teacher, he also served on the National Board of Directors for The American Montessori Society, chairing its finance, nominating and fund development committees. Tom has a BS from West Chester University and is pursuing an MA from Sienna Heights University.

Rebekah S. Fennell, Managing Partner

Rebekah Fennell has more than 20 years experience in grant writing, organizational development and nonprofit managementDuring her 17 years in Washington, DC, Rebekah lead national and local nonprofit organizations in the areas of criminal justice, civic education, health care and women’s issues.  Her experience includes a diverse array of issues: international relations and democracy building in Russia, Ukraine, Poland, Hungary, Bosnia-Hercegovina and 16 Latin American countries; voter participation and voter education in the U.S.; federal women’s rights legislation and advocacy; improving access to health care and prescription drugs for the uninsured; prenatal care, well-child care and infant mortality;  children’s literacy, and; national research on sentencing guidelines as well as local criminal justice operations.

Rebekah has written and administered grant programs from: the U.S. Department of Justice, U.S. Information Agency, U.S. Institute for Peace, and the U.S. Agency for International Development. Her experience with private grants includes projects for national funders such as: the Ford Foundation, The Pew Charitable Trusts, the Joyce Foundation, the Carnegie Foundation and the Soros Foundation as well as community and family foundations.  Rebekah also has experience with government grants at the national, state and local level.  Among her recent client successes was a $2 million W.K. Kellogg Foundation grant awarded to The Parks Foundation for the Kalamazoo River Valley Trailway.  Rebekah has a BA from Michigan State University and an MS from the University of Maryland.
